To evaluate readiness for accession there are analysed Copenhagen criteria individually and also compared the main macroeconomic indicators of so called magic quadrangle of Turkey and average values of the EU`s member states from 2004 to 2014. These two chosen methods of analysis bring a comprehensive assessment of the readiness of Turkey. The results of the work conclude that on the basis of non-compliance with particular political point of the Copenhagen criteria on respect for democracy, freedom and human rights for all the inhabitants of the country, Turkey is not ready to join the European Union in the near future.
